Apple pie maths

Present your work in a way that everyone will understand.


  1. David wants to make apple pies for his friends.  He needs one-quarter
  2. of an apple for each pie and he has 12 apples.  What is the greatest
  3. number of pies that he can make with 12 apples?
12 divided by 4=3   
3x4=12






2. Akosita wants to make apple pies for her friends.  She needs three-quarters
of an apple for each pie and he has 12 apples.  What is the greatest number
of pies that she can make with 12 apples?


12 divided by 4=3
3x3-9




3. Ralphina had 49 toy cars and Viliamu had 26. What is the difference
between the number of cars?
23 difference



4. Azalea had 87 toy cars and Azariah had 15. What is the total amount
of cars did they have altogether?


  87+15=102                              102 Altogether
  102-15=87



5. Selu had 67 stickers and Lusia had 55. How many more stickers did
Selu have than Lusia?


67-55=12                                  12 more than Lusia
12+55=67


6. Junefia cycles 45 kilometres before lunch and 37 kilometres after
lunch. How far did she cycle altogether? 


45+37=82                                  82 altogether
82-37=45
