Interview questions: becoming a teacher

With this activity, we were to create questions to interview someone that is living his/her dream. These are my questions and I was lucky enough to interview Miss Lanton who is a teacher in Room 5. Here it goes... Where did your love of becoming a teacher come from? What do teachers do? How did you get your job as a teacher at Tamaki Primary? What have been your highlights of your career so far? What are your future goals? What skills do you need to become a teacher? What advice do you have for students who want to pursue this pathway?

Today we were excited to have two DMIC guests to observe our clever way of solving mathematical problem. I think we solved the problem explicitly as you can see on our video. We hope you understand.

Venn diagram

We have learnt a lot from Aroha's way and from the "Follow Your Dream" that we can not give or give in to all the negative comments that people say about us.
We need to always try our best, never give up on what you know is right.
We need to be courage and talk to people that we trust.

Follow your dream lyrics

Verse 1
People laugh us they
Stare at you and say
She's got nowhere to go
But if they only know you're thinkin
Where did I go wrong
How should I move on
In Spite of what I see
They're losing faith in me
Refrain 1
You tell yourself you believe
That in every feat
It takes a heart to endure
All the pains and grief,
Having the hope to see the best that you can be….
Chorus
Follow your dream
The courage found within
Your soul is keeping you so strong
That you could rise each time you fall
And stand up on your own
This time you won't go wrong
Just give your best to hold your will
Persistently, become the one
You've always aimed to be
Verse 2
Got to find your place
Where you'll proudly face
The woes that come your way
Sometimes it's hard to say
If you can stick to your desire
Never lose the fire
That burns up light inside for you to win the fight
Refrain 2
You tell yourself to achieve
You must not retreat
Persist the stops can be tough
If you must compete
Learning the path of fate
By every road you take...

Text A and Text B activity

Text A
It’s a clear Auckland night. The grass is wet and spongy.
Everything’s still. A young boy creeps outside,
Lies on his back and searches the sky. Staring at the moon,
He dreams of flying into space.

Fast-forward thirty years to Houston, Texas. Mana Vautier says goodbye

to his family and heads to work. As an aerospace engineer at NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), he is living his dream.
NASA is the largest space agency in the world. It was set up by the United States government to explore and learn about the universe.
Born in Auckland and of Te Arawa, Ngai Tahu, Ngati Kahungunu, and Ngati
Raukawa descent, Mana always knew he wanted to explore space. But how did a star-gazing boy from Auckland end up working for NASA?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved staring at the night sky.
I’ve always wanted to study it and hopefully one day explore it.
I always knew I wanted to work in human space flight, but I had no idea how to make it happen. Luckily, I was brought up in a family that
Taught me to believe I could do anything I put my mind to. In 2006, I was
accepted into a university in Alabama in the United States to study aerospace engineering. While studying, I heard about a summer job with NASA in Houston. Houston is where the United States astronauts are trained, so I knew I had to apply. I got the job and eventually became a full-time employee
